Bourton & District u3a has been a member of the Third Age Trust since 2011, which is the national body looking after all u3as in the United Kingdom, providing administrative, legal and group activity support.

We serve the Gloucestershire village of Bourton-on-the Water and the market towns of Stow on the Wold and Moreton-in-Marsh. The surrounding area covers picturesque villages and hamlets including the Rissingtons, the Oddingtons, the Slaughters, the Swells and Bourton-on-the-Hill, to name a few.

We are located among the rolling hills of the North Cotswolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, enjoying some iconic views of the English countryside.

Bourton & District u3a operates as a charity and is "governed" by a committee of members (Trustees) voted in at each AGM. Oversight of our u3a is currently carried out by nine Trustees with individual group leaders managing their own groups. Details of Trustees can be found by clicking on the Committee link in the banner at the top of the page.

The Trustees welcome any expression of interest from any member in joining them.

Activities

We have over 25 interest and activity groups, covering subjects from archeology to Ukulele and are always happy to assist anyone who has an interest they would like to explore. More in information on our groups can be found here

We also hold an open monthly meeting, normally on the 4th Wednesday of every month. We usually have a "guest talk" followed by light refreshments.

Costs

Our membership year runs from 1st September to 31st August and costs £14 per year, £25 for couples. A nationwide u3a magazine is available at an additional cost.

Some of our individual groups charge for their individual expenses which may include room hire, refreshments and equipment.
