Photography Group: Overview and Meetings
Welcome to the Photography Group
The Photography Group warmly welcomes anyone with an interest in photography, regardless of their level of experience. Whether you are a complete beginner or an accomplished photographer, the group accommodates and supports all abilities.
Open to All
Membership is open to all who are interested in photography. You do not need to own a high-end camera; a camera phone is perfectly suitable, although you are also welcome to use a digital camera if you have one. Unlike many traditional camera clubs that tend to focus exclusively on digital cameras, the Photography Group encourages participation from individuals using any type of camera.
Our Aim
The primary purpose of the group is to foster the enjoyment and appreciation of photography at every level. We strive to create a friendly and relaxed environment where members can share their enthusiasm and learn from one another.
Opportunities to Learn
While the group focuses on enjoyment and appreciation, members who wish to expand their technical skills may find opportunities to do so outside the regular monthly meetings.
Those interested in delving deeper into photographic techniques through group shoots, workshops and one-to-one training, may wish to consider other local resources.
Monthly Meetings
The Photography Group holds monthly meetings, each centred around a specific theme.
Each month, members who wish to, can bring a small selection of their photos which are projected through a computer onto a screen and viewed by the group. Positive feedback is shared, and members can enjoy everyone’s photographs.
As meetings are kept to an hour and a half, attendees are welcome to bring their own refreshments.
There is a standard charge of £2 per person for each monthly meeting, which goes towards the cost of hiring the room.
